The Kia Carens was launched in India on 15 February, 2022.
Performance:
The Kia Carens shares its powertrain list with the Seltos. This includes a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre petrol produces 113bhp and 144Nm torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the turbo-petrol mill generates 138bhp and 242Nm and is coupled with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT unit. The diesel derivative is tuned to produce 113bhp and 250Nm of torque and can be had with a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Features
The Kia Carens is loaded with features to the gills. Starting with the beige, blue and black theme for the dashboard, door pads, and upholstery, the Carens is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully-digital driver’s display. There are loads of storage and stowage places all around the cabin.
Besides this, getting to the third-row will be an easy affair given that the second-row seats will get an electric one-touch tumble down function. Other notable highlights of the Carens includes a 64-colour ambient lighting, an air purifier, roof-mounted aircon vents for the middle and third row, front ventilated seats, and a single-pane electric sunroof. On the safety front, the Carens will be loaded with all four disc brakes, six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking sensors.
Rivals:
The rivals to the Kia Carens include the Maruti XL6 and Maruti Ertiga in terms of body style but also sedans like the Hyundai Verna and Honda City as well as lower spec versions of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
